Summer’s just around the corner, and with the good weather that is coming our way, you’re probably looking for more excuses to be outside. One of the best things you can do to enjoy the upcoming summer, is to find a hobby that you love that’s outside. I personally love trying new hobbies to see which ones I enjoy enough to make a normal part of my routine. If you’re looking for something new to try, here are some suggestions of things sporty summer hobbies that might get you hooked.

Badminton
I think badminton is one of those sports that hasn’t quite got the limelight it deserves. I personally love what a diverse game it is, you can easily customise the game size to however many players you have, easily playing in singles, doubles or larger groups. I also love that it’s a game you can play without investing in a lot of equipment or spending a lot of money. It’s a great way to improve your overall fitness, reduce stress, improve your heart function and to have fun! Because badminton is an outdoor game, it’s a wonderful sport to play during the warmer summer months. All you need to get started is a pair of Yonex Badminton Rackets, and a shuttlecock.

Yoga
Whether you’re an expert at yoga, or just getting started, one of the best ways in my opinion to practice yoga outside. I’m sure you’ll be able to find some outdoor yoga classes that start up as the weather warms up. There’s something quite special and fun about doing yoga in the sunshine. If you’re not ready to head to classes, then you can even just find a great place to set up your yoga mat outside – in your garden, in a park, or if you’re lucky enough maybe even at the beach.

Mountain Biking
If you’re looking for a more adventurous sport this summer, why not try mountain biking? If you’ve never been mountain biking, then you might be surprised by how thrilling it can be. It’s also a fabulous work out, as you have to utilise a lot of muscles including stabilising muscles to get yourself up the hills that are so exciting to come back down. Mountain biking can be an extremely social sport, and if it’s something you want to get into why not look on Facebook or Meetup.com to see what kind of mountain biking clubs are in your area.

Rock Climbing
When you think of rock climbing, do you think of a rock climbing wall inside some artificially lit gym? Well, there’s actually a whole other world of rock climbing where people climb actual rocks and cliffs in nature. This means you’ll be out in the best of the summer’s weather, enjoying some incredible landscapes while working on your craft and building muscle strength. While there’s nothing wrong with an indoor climbing gym, the reality is that nothing compares to climbing outside and enjoying the spectacular views from the top of your climb.

If getting sporty and fit this summer is one of your goals, why not make it easier for yourself by getting into one of these great hobby ideas.
