Following Leicester City failure to secure a spot for next campaign of the UEFA Champions League, forward Kelechi Iheanacho spoke on his disappointment.

Leicester City’s hope of qualifying for the European tournament was dashed as they were unable to find their ground at the King Power Stadium and lost 4-2 to Tottenham Hotspur, with best online casinos placing several odds on that game for the fans.

The Foxes took a 2-1 lead against the North London club due to Jamie Vardy’s brace, but they were unable to hold their forte as they ended up losing to Spurs with Gareth Bale’s brace inspiring a comeback victory for the away side.

Nigerian forward Iheanacho claimed that they gave it their all and he remains proud of the Foxes while stating that the East Midlands’ side will build the team on their FA Cup trophy next season.

“Disappointed to miss out on UCL qualification, we gave it all until the last moment. I’m proud of my team, winning the FA Cup was a dream for us,” Iheanacho wrote on his Twitter page.

“We’ll use this as motivation to be back next season! Thanks to the fans for your support this season. Have a great summer everyone.”

The King Power Stadium outfit will be representing the Premier League alongside West Ham United in the Europa League in the 2021/22 campaign.

Despite starting the 2020/21 campaign slow, the Nigerian forward reignited his goalscoring abilities by finding the back of the net on several occasions which helped his team win some important points. Iheanacho finished the season with 19 goals and seven assist in all competitions to become Leicester City’s top scorer for the season, which was predicted by best payout casino after several analyses.

His match-winning goal against Crystal Palace was also voted Leicester City’s Goal of the Season. Defender Jonny Evans found the former Manchester City striker with a long pass and drilled the ball into the back of net as the opponent goalkeeper stood no chance.

Speaking to LCFC TV, Iheanacho said: “It feels good! It was a great goal and a great ball from Jonny. That goal is really a great goal and I’m happy that the fans chose that as the best goal this season.

“I’m really, really happy. When the ball got played in from Jonny, I got it down inside and took it back. The only thing on my mind was to shoot, and that’s what I did. It went in the back of the net, so it was really a great pass from Jonny.

“As you can see, everybody was so happy, the staff as well. It meant a lot for the team because we really worked hard in that game to come from behind

“Jonny made a great, great tackle as well, and that helped us as well because that was like a half-goal for me. He ran from the halfway line to make that tackle. It was a great moment and of course, making the assist as well for me to score, was fantastic.”
