Atletico Madrid striker Luis Suarez took to the media to claim that he is hoping to see Lionel Messi stay at Barcelona, while also admitting that he has no connections in the Camp Nou when it comes to talks of big-money contracts.
The Argentine forward continues to exhaust the remaining days on his current contract with the Catalonian club and is en route to free agency, and au online casino is keeping a close eye on the player.
Reports have it that there have been several fresh contracts being tabled, but no paperwork is being signed, and Atletic striker Suarez stands alongside millions waiting on what the Argentine forward final decision will be.
Suarez, who played alongside Messi for six years winning several trophies with the Argentine, took to the media to reveal what he thinks of the six-time Ballon d’Or staying at Camp Nou, he said to El Partidazo de COPE: “As a friend and fan I would be happy, I would love it, and I would recommend that he continues at Barcelona.
“Has he told me if he’s staying? Not yet.”
Back in February, several outlets reported that the Argentine legend would only be making a decision regarding his future in the summer when his contract expires.
With his usual incredible performance, Messi was pivotal in helping Barcelone win the Copa del Rey but he could only watch his former teammate Luis Suarez lead Atletico to La Liga trophy triumph.
There still much in play before Messi can come up with a decision and there is also speculations questioning Ronald Koeman’s future as the team head coach along with potential transfer targets in the summer.
Messi’s fellow compatriot Sergio Aguero, who currently plays for Manchester City, is one of the players heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou.
Former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola, who is Manchester City’s current head coach, revealed to the media that Aguero is most likely to land in Spain as he is also en route to free agency this summer, and online casino Canada knows the player is keen on a move to Barca.
Aguero’s arrival could give way to more negotiations that will, in turn, hopefully, convince his fellow compatriot to remain at Camp Nou.
Suarez has no qualms with Barcelona hunting for players with immense experience following his departure from the club in the summer of 2020. Speaking about Aguero potential move to Barcelona, Suarez said to the media: “Now there is a new board of directors, other people, and they are looking for a quality player.
“Obviously he has a relationship with Leo, but you cannot argue about what a quality player he is and what he can give to Barcelona. I support the decision totally.”
