For many of us, travel has been on hold for the majority of the year. Whether you’re stuck at home planning a trip for next year, or hoping to go ahead with your travel plans later in the year, chances are you’re probably racking the Internet for fun things to do on your next trip. I personally miss travel so much and can’t wait to walk through an airport again, or the thrill of landing in a new destination, feet hitting the ground and ready to explore. If you’ve got an upcoming trip to South Africa, or you’re just dreaming of foreign lands, hopefully these tips will inspire you!

1. Kruger National Park
This is a huge national park and one of the largest in all of Africa. This is one of the best places to go if you want a chance of seeing the “big five” and it is the perfect place for an authentic safari. The park itself is so big, at almost 20,000 km2, it’s impossible to cover it in one day. If you can, it’s worth staying for a few nights and getting a camping experience. There’s something so incredibly special about seeing so many wild animals and birdlife in their natural environment, this is a bucket-list-worthy thing to do for sure!

2. Online Casinos
Whether you’re based in South Africa, or heading there for a trip, you’ll be surprised that there are quite a few good online casino options to keep you entertained. This is particularly great if you’ve got a lot of transit, but want to gamble while you’re waiting for your next bus or flight. Check out online casino South Africa for more information on the options that you’ll have there! It can be a fun way to pass the evening after a busy day of sightseeing.

3. Cape of Good Hope
This is a beautiful nature reserve that’s worth at least a half-day visit. Be sure to bring plenty of water and be a little wary of the baboons! Here you’ll see sweeping views and you can make the trek up to the lighthouse, or take the tramway, and then hike down. The beach below has silky white sand set against beautiful turquoise waters, making for postcard pictures. Although this is a drive from Cape Town, it’s certainly worth it! Alternatively, you can book flight specials which would get you to your destination a lot quicker.

4. Lion’s Head
Located in Cape town, this is one of the most striking mountains you might ever see in your life. From the top you’ll have incredible views of Cape town, and on the way up you’re sure to get your heart pumping. You’ll also get magnificent views of Table Mountain and Camps Bay. It’s about a 2.5-hour return hike, so be sure to dress accordingly. There are also a few slightly challenging ladders towards the end, so probably not the best for those with vertigo!

5. Stellenbosch, Western Cape
Probably the most scenic town in all of South Africa. Here you’ll find beautiful white-washed Cape Dutch houses as well as old oak trees and numerous farms. These days it’s known as a university town, surrounded by incredible scenery and dotted with some incredible restaurants. While there are a few museums and things to keep you entertained, you’ll probably love walking around and admiring how beautiful this town is.

There’s so much to do and see in South Africa, I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time. Hopefully, these tips get you excited about planning your time there.
